1) Change an existing Python script to connect to a different database (from SQLite to MySQL). The Python script is available here: [url removed, login to view]
and it currently uses the SQLAlquemy library to connect to a SQLite database.
So, I guess all that is needed is to change the SQLAlquemy database driver config from SQLite to MySQL.
2) Add a script that, every X hours, runs one of the already available templated queries:
The existing code is already executing this query when the Fetch button is pressed by the user. This query will return the last 25 members (1 page) which have been added to the group. Typically, out of those 25, the top 10 or 12 members will be new to us(ie we didnt get them in the last query we run X hours ago). The rest of the members, we already have in our GROUP_MEMBERS table.
If all of the 25 members returned by the query are new to us, then the script will run the query again to get the next 25 members and so on.
So, the input parameters into the script are:
a) the list of groups
b) X = number of hours
