High level - I need to be able to parse an excel spreadsheet and pull records that match a range of values.
Details- attached is an example report. Each "record" will span a variable number of rows, based on the number of entries in the "property code" column. Each entry in the "user" column, along with all following rows until the next "user" entry, and extending to the "property codes" column, constitutes a "record". In the example report, the first record is 1 row, while the second record is 24 rows.
I need a solution that will, when given a number range, copy any records that contain a matching property code in the range to a results file. If a record has multiple matching codes it should only be copied once, and the entire record should be copied.
As an example, if given the range 85000-85999, the results file would include the records for rjohnson (1 row) and ebarbezat (156 rows).
It would be beneficial to be able to specify the name of the results file when specifying the number range. If we can provide multiple names/number ranges at once, that would be ideal.
I understand that this is not a standard usage for excel, but the input file format cannot be changed. If you have any questions, please ask prior to bidding. This solution will be tested thoroughly prior to acceptance, so if we can work out any confusion ahead of time that would be greatly preferred.
