Artist Web Gallery - WordPress or Joomla

We want a web design created for an artist's web site. We want it in the form of a WordPress template. We would consider a joomla template but are leaning towards WordPress. The main features need to be: 1. Ability to view photos of the artistic works in a gallery type format. Clicking on an image for more detail. 2. We want an appealing & modern graphical design. Most existing ecommerce templates are very rigid and great for selling consumer products but not artistically appealing. We want graphic design thought of first with a small display of the price of the item and link to a shopping cart. 3. Admin backend allows us to edit each item's photo, price, and description. 4. The design should also think about the ability to show other pages such as "About Us" or "List of Events". We can probably use WordPress to create these pages, but want the template to make it easy to visually integrate these other pages.
