add album to my wordpress with sidebar with text

I need a nice album gallery on my page, the left side of the page will be pictures we upload (no albums, it just shows the most recent picture at the top) and will have pagenation at the bottom), on the right hand side we need a little sidebar that will say "Upcoming Events" and I can list events on the right hand side by just editing the text, I have a sorta picture of how I want it to look.
Needs to be done within the hour.
