Development of a Prototype (Demo/MVP) for a Puzzle Game. It's effectively a 2D & 3D Jigsaw Puzzle.

​I need a game developer to create a prototype iOS/Android game (for all major mobile platforms), mostly likely using Unity. The game is intended to be fun, but it also contains a subtle, hidden educational element since it is based on natural scientific phenomena. I plan to use the prototype to find funding to make the full version of the game. This will be a great project for a game developer who likes to read and think about science. It is a puzzle game which is fundamentally just a static jigsaw puzzle made up of differently shaped puzzle pieces that can only be combined in one way. That aspect is very obvious, and surely easy for any experienced developer to program. Naturally, the varied and highly specific shapes of the puzzle pieces are what will make the game unique and hopefully addictive. This feature will also lead to endless gameplay, making it easy for me to create hundreds of levels based around various themes in the full version(s) of the game. I will define the puzzle levels used for the prototype; that's easy for me to do, and it will also reduce and simplify the essential work and time needed by the developer. This prototype needs to concentrate on demonstrating the basic principle and gameplay​ concept. I am only looking for a game demo/MVP that plays well and is easy for the user to learn to play. It does not need to have beautiful graphics or sound etc., so no time or effort is required to make it look visually appealing or have a great overall feel. Indeed, I will happily supply the simple vector artwork required to build the sprites, in whatever form the developer needs them. (Again, I am not looking for a game designer at this point, although it would naturally be a bonus to make the playable demo look great too. Good aesthetics would certainly help show off the developer's work, but I am not willing to pay much at all for the involvement of design expertise at this point.) The game levels will start in 2D and advanced levels will definitely involve 3D puzzles as the game evolves. Level 1 will have just 2 puzzle pieces and will serve as an introductory tutorial; hence it will immediately be very intuitive. Level 2 will have 5 puzzle pieces, and from there the player should fully understand what they need to do to progress. I'm estimating 20-30 levels in the prototype to adequately exemplify the gameplay's progression from simple 2D to complex 3D puzzles. This will also allow time to show off some of the other 'puzzling tricks' that the concept includes which will naturally be far from obvious to the player at the start. This concept is intrinsically full of tricky secrets that are designed to make for a simple-looking yet highly challenging endless series of puzzles...and it's all based in reality. I need a highly reliable person, and clearly I'd like to see the developer's portfolio before going ahead with the project. I can't afford to pay for a demo/MVP that cannot effectively get the games's essential concept across to prospective funders and others with whom I will work to develop the full version.
