Highlight Keywords Without Breaking Links or Tags

I have a news type asp page with a database search option.

I want to highlight the keywords from any search without breaking any links (or any html tags) in the post that may include the keywords.

I tried out the following great little script found on [login to view URL], but I need someone that can modify it or provide a simular function that will not break links.
