During my 40-year career in marketing communications, I wrote copy for a number of banks. Much of it was direct mail copy because that's what was requested. In my last few years of working full time, I worked on more online content and, since I've retired and am working with Freelancer.com, I've worked nearly exclusively with online content.
So I have three advantages to offer you:
-- A thorough knowledge of the banking industry (credit cards, HELOCs, IRAs, etc.)
-- Experience with direct response advertising. I know how to write persuasively to get the reader to respond. In other words, I write copy that sells.
-- Experience with website content. I understand how to write for the online reader -- succinctly, in short sentences, bullet points, etc.
I also take direction well. Your project sounds challenging and fun. Yes, banks can be stuffy, but engaging copy would definitely be a plus. Explain your brand positioning to me (via a creative brief, I assume). Tell me what pages need to be written. Provide background on the bank and its products, services and unique selling proposition. And I'll take it from there.
Consider my quote directional only since you don't say how many pages are needed or the amount of content you anticipate for each page. My billing rate is $50/hour, and I would only bill you for the actual time I work. I write quickly and will provide an estimate before I begin. Hope you hear from you soon. Thanks for your consideration.
