Social Media Strategist - Community Manager

The Role: The Social Media Marketing Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing social media posts and campaigns. The primary focus on community management, engagement and editorial for our various clients. Key Responsibilities: Create and maintain Content Calendars, including writing Facebook Status Updates, Tweets, Instagram posts, etc. Assist with creation of images to support social content Post relevant content in accordance with Content Calendar Review user generated comments & posts in a quick & timely manner Respond to comments, when appropriate to foster a positive community & add value to the user’s experience The Ideal Candidate has: At least 1 year experience in Social Media handling sports-related accounts. Educational background in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or English preferred Excellent command of (written) English, including strong copywriting and editing skills Advanced knowledge of Social Media platforms (including paid advertising) – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat etc., Willingness and ability to create blogs and social media posts daily Energy, with a desire to come up with fresh ideas on how to grow a brands online presence Ability to identify a target market and engage with that consumer through social media Knowledge of digital media software – Photoshop or other graphic design software is preferred Knowledge of WordPress is an asset but not required Knowledge of Social Media Advertising platforms (Facebook, Instagram) preferred, not required Willingness to work outside normal business hours (including weeknights and weekends) Combination of work-from-home and office Must have current smartphone/device Must have access to secure wi-fi network when working remotely.
