DIY Seismograph network using accelerometers

I'm trying to build makeshift seismograph-type devices. My goal was to leave a few along a nearby fault line area here in California, and have the readings sent to my laptop from each unit. Thing is, there is no cell reception where I want to set these up, and so a direct connection with my pc is the way to go...and while things are happening, I'll be parked a few hundred feet away. According to Google, a 2.4 GHz connection theoretically has about a 300ft range outdoors. I ordered a few Adafruit Feather M0s ([login to view URL]), attached mini-coaxial FXP74 2.4GHz band antennas ([login to view URL]), and connected Adafruit ADXL345 digital accelerometers ([login to view URL]). I was also gifted a Piezoelectric advanced accelerometer that I would like to setup and use as well. I'm assuming I'll need another component acting as a "server" between the 2-3 units and my pc? Is this doable, or am I forced to pull data, one at a time? I bit off a bit more than I can chew, and the tutorials are confusing me more and more. I've included a picture of my breakout board. Hi , let me help you with this. The system i have in mind for you would be a couple of small stations, similar in size to the adafruit feather that you showed. These would be self powered and capable of transmitting signals to your location within a radius of 2-10 miles. Since you want to measure the relative magnitude of lateral forces within the earth, they can be embedded in the soil and their data can be received by your pc/phone etc. If the idea sounds good to you, let us discuss and refine it further. Greetings! You can use the Wi-Fi device as a server too, and only pull data from it when you are in range with either laptop/PC/phone using the web browser. Cool project, I am interested in this topic too, let me know if you want to have a chat. Bye.
