Project Title: Development of Record Comparison Tool using VBA Macros
I am looking for a freelancer with advanced familiarity with VBA Macros to develop a record comparison tool. The primary purpose of the tool is to compare records across multiple datasets. There is a file attached which has the earlier version of the same macro.
Datasets:
- The client can either provide specific datasets or the freelancer can provide them, as long as the tool works as intended.
Description:
1) Find Replace component - There are two main sheets in the macro viz. Data and Report. We need to enable the user to carry out find / replace for multiple values in either of the two sheets, through a macro. Such find / replace may be subject to additional conditions based on some other fields. Also the replace field to be mentioned by the user, which can be different from the find field. Example, find security code and replace it with ISIN of underlying in the ISIN field.
Have a look at the find replace sheet in the main file.
2) Merge data from multiple sources for making the final data sheet. - There is a basic source file for making the Data sheet ready. It should ordinarily satisfy the requirement of about 70-80% fields of the Data sheet. However, for the other fields there can be different other secondary sources. They are to be ultimately merged (and not appended) to the main source file of the data. This is to be achieved using combinations of one or more fields from the primary source file. It's as good as performing a lookup (like vlookup function in Excel) and fill the data fields.
You may assume that all such secondary source files for Data sheet will be excel files. No other format like pdf, txt, json, xml will be used.
3) Display row no in the status bar - to understand whether macro is progressing and where it has reached. A status display, basically. If the macro takes a lot of time to get executed.
