Excel Macro/Formula - Easy job - repost

This is a very simple job for anyone who knows how to write excel formulas and macros.
I have a fingerprint scanner that exports the log in and log out time for each employee and I want a formula that will change those times into a figure in hours and minutes.
For example Jim starts at 9:30am and finishes at 4:30pm.
I don't care when Jim starts or finishes - I just want to know how many hours jim worked that day. (ie 7 hours)
I can give a sample of the exported data - what I want (if possible) is a button in excel that I click and it works out the hours from the log in and log off times.
If a button is too hard then a formula I can cut and paste will do.
