An application to track movements in relation to the ball in mini-games

Below find the idea I had in mind, I think I have already discussed this with you:

Track the movement of players in a basketball game 3v3 and a ball. I already did some research on which method should be using and my idea is to have a video camera to record the game and each player will wear a different coloured hat and a ball with different colour than the players’ hats.

Using Java utilizing the OpenCV library to build the program. The program will be used to collect of the objects’ position and the analysis of their movements.

Stage 1: Program thresholds every frame accordingly to the colour ranges specified for each object and the center is then calculated

Stage 2: The closest player to the ball for a number of consecutive farms is amused to have possession. Change of possession are then analysed to compile the number of possessions complete passes and turnovers per player and per team.
