we get constantly GPS coordinates from different GPS devices an a socket server - we will check and log this data with a Coldfusion CFC, and will push then this to a java back-end app (that has to be developed). the java back-end has to calculate in real-time a ranking of with all GPS data that he receive. the back-end has no gui - it has to hold ready this ranking to be displayed on several clients (Coldfusion CFM and Flex clients).
this back-end has nothing to with maps or with calculations from A to B © it could much more compared with a mathematical / business back-end
