I have a simple web GL control which is more or less taken from this example

On a computer screen the rotation feels clunky and there is no zoom. On an iPad the rotation does not work at all.
For this webGL control I would like the following things
* Add zoom
* get rotation and zoom also working in a browser running on an iPad
* improve the rotation if possible
I am hoping the is just a matter of adding / replacing some of the javascript code.

On iPad there is no "mousedown" and "mouseup" events, you have to use "touchstart" and "touchend" events.
* improve the rotation if possible
Don't know about this one. Probably adding rotating with keyboard keys will solve the problem.

I have a good background working in computer graphics (mainly with OpenGL and WebGL). I can modify your code in order to have rotation and zoom on desktop and iOS8. On what desktop browser does the rotation feels "clunky" ?
