Hi,
I am new to meteor and Javascript and need some assistance please.
I would like to find out if it would be possible to add the Foursquare API to my meteor Web App (I'm endeavoring to promote local business in my city) but to have the search results post to a mongoDB database as opposed to displaying the standard Foursquare venue details in html.
If this is not possible, I would like a quote on a walkthrough explanation of how to implement different types of searches utilizing the Google places API as Josh Owens has done in this video: [login to view URL] (JOsh uses a Food search within 500 miles but I need to establish how to implement other searches, e.g. nightclub within 200 miles or church within 100 miles, etc.)
Leaflet and ratchet not required as I don't want a map displayed at all, just the results to populate a mongo collection so that I can do stuff with them in the html, e.g. custom events, drink specials, etc.
Layout is handled by responsive Bootstrap 3, no Cordova integration at this stage.
There is a repo on Github for the demo example used.
Also, I am not keen on using any other framework such as Rails or symfony and am somewhat of a [login to view URL] evangelist even in these early stages.
I code on a Windows 8.1 machine and use a Node.js command prompt.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as I am really bootstrapping here.
Thank you.
Regards,
Jayson
