Azure linux server *Expert* - backup and setup

Hi All, I have an Azure server which is running CentOS7.2. However, I am not so familiar with Azure platform, I added disk last time and maybe mounting problem, it makes my server not able to reboot normally. I can't reboot normally and can't even enter my server. At last, I removed the server and install everything again. I want to ask how can I avoid this? It is not possible for me to remove everything everytime. What can I do with Azure backup or make sure configuration is correct?
