I am a beginner at iOS and android, but a competent programmer. I want to write an app, but I don't want to take the week or so to learn it from the grounds up. instead, I want to get skeleton code, instructions how to get it going, and then play with the code myself. importantly, ordinary OS knowledge, learned from a course or book here and there, is not enough. I need someone who is a deep expert either in iOS or Android or both. a true hacker.

I need to ask questions, such as

* I need to find out whether we are on cellular or wifi, what the connection strength is, and what other info I can glance. I need a sample app that runs and prints this to the screen. that's it.

* I need to start a program upon boot. Give me an example that starts it, sleeps 3 minutes, and then gives a single alert. that's it.

* I need to run a background task once a minute. Give me an example that just puts up an alert once a minute (or pings a client).

* I want to replicate functionality displayed here: [url removed, login to view] : map, settings, cellular connection measurement.

* is my X approach the most power-efficient way to run this program?

* should I write this in Obj-C, or is there a good efficient framework to do it better?

... and easier questions, such as,

* I need a TCP client, that sends one message and receives one message.

* I need a program that draws a map centered where I am now, movable, scrollable, plus colored pixels.

* I need to find out where we are (location), and how accurate this measurement is.

* what is a good program to design a settings screen that mimicks the standard OS (iOS or Android) settings screen, has 3 fields and sets three variables when done. send me an example.

* I need to hook parental controls into my settings screen.

* I need to send a notification from a perl linux program on the Internet to a specific device.

* recommend a good book that teaches how to do Y.

ideally, I send a task in pseudo-code or perl code, get an estimate of how much money the answer costs, and (if I say yes) get back basic code that works, plus (initially) instructions how to get it going, plus a bill. I expect to pay between $50 and $150 per hour IF it is really good and quick. My guess is if someone really knows the answer, it is more like $150/hour. if knowledge is not as deep so that it requires consulting of manuals, it is more like $50/hour. I also would like to get answers relatively soon, though email only. The person must be usually working on US timezones---I do not want to wait the 12 hours between us and India. The relationship may not be monogamous, and may be short-term (1 month) or long-term (3 years).

I will delete the usual "please contact me" messages that have not read my post, esp those from India that do not bother to tell me that they work on US time rather than India time. If you want to work on this, spend the 15 minutes to give me sample quotes for the above. I will pick a few of the best for tryout.
