We require an Android app which remaps buttons, either by editing the keylayout files, or by sending events manually.
The outcome required is to remap a chosen hardware button to the headset hook.
The app must detect the keypress of the chosen button, so in this way the app can be used to remap whichever button we choose to the headset hook.
App flow:
Settings - App asks to press a key to be assigned
User presses the chosen hardware key
The app displays the current details and mapping for the key
The app then maps this key to be used as the headset hook (this could be by changes to keylayout files or alternately the app can do it dynamically).
The mapping needs to be saved with the app running on startup so the mapping happens automatically until changed within the app settings.
The keys may be custom keys, hardware keys, non-standard hardware keys, and not always where you would expect in the keylayout file. This is why we need to have the app detect the keypress and assign from there.
We require a stable APK along with the full source code and Android Studio project files. Android 4.1+
