k2 categories and articles not showing

i did a transfer of the k2 database from my old website to the new one and the articles and the categories are not showing on the frontent , i can see them normally on the backend. i have also set the k2 categories to load on the modules but the frontend modules are not showing any articles. Both websites are running the same joomla version and k2 aswell. The only think i can guess is that some query should run on the database to match the new template settings of the quickstarter package or something like this.
