Database developer who will be responsible for develop and support ETL process for consolidated data warehouse. Migrating data warehouse from on premise to cloud based databases and vice versa. You will also work in tandem with the other teams, preparing documentations and specifications as required. Project description: An online ads platform backend is mySQL based. There are several servers, some of them are in master-slave configuration. Shards are located on different db [login to view URL] current system is in production and there are several challenges that needs to be fixed. Short-term System load: there are long running queries that need to be identified and addressed in the application layer or by adding indexes, archiving data, etc. Versioning: there are several versions of mySQL currently in production and it needs to be brought up to the most current version Optimization: based on system load and the current configuration of hardware and database design we are looking to create a list of recommendations Maintenance: develop and implement maintenance plans for servers/databases: backups, regular updates, etc. Mid-term Database consolidation: based on the list of optimization steps there is need to re-architect the system in order to improve performance and its maintainability. Database re-architecture: there might be a need to change the main database technology in order to achieve consolidation and optimization goals. Long term Cloud migration: platform migration to Google cloud in order to improve system performance and maintainability Summary: it’s a long-term project and will require a lot of research and new technologies. You will be working with some of the best database/business intelligence developers and will be able to contribute to an challenging and interesting
