Brief:
Connecting payment gateways onto our platform
Type of Payment accounts:
- Stripe Connect - Standard Account with Separate Charges and Transfers
- Stripe monthly membership
- There are multiple sellers on the website who have their own Stripe accounts.
- When a customer purchases from multiple sellers on the checkout page, only one payment is required (one transaction – then the money is split between the sellers). Split Cart Checkout.
- The seller has control over payments and can cancel and refund customers

Stripe Membership
We will be creating memberships for a percentage of sellers, this needs to be set up for first payment on 26.08.2020. All new sellers will be paying £15 per month to list their products on Emporella. We would like this to be set up with Stripe Connect.
Notes
- Customer should be able to choose between stripe (insert card details) to pay for their items.
- If the seller has not connected their account to Stripe and the customer chooses to pay via Stripe on the check out page, payment will be made to Emporella’s Stripe account (for us to then manually pay the seller).
- Please note: we would not wish the above to happen often – only a backup if the seller has not set up their account correctly.
Current problems include:
- Failed orders – if an attempted purchase is made on the checkout page but fails, the seller still receives a notification by email that they have successfully sold their product. Even when no payment has been made.
