State Website (non profit org)

The purpose of this website is to get our state chapter of DECA on the internet. DECA is a small competitive program for our high school. Here is a little description of what we would like. If you refer to [login to view URL], this is another state website that we really like. We would like to have something similar (but not to be an exact copy). What we would like to do is be able to modify the menu’s for the navigation from a backend. We would like to do a lot of things from the backend. Here are some things that we would like to be able to do: We would like to be able to add pages (do all the creation and design all web based), and then we would also like to add pictures and whatnot also through the backend. In general we would like to be able to modify almost everything through the backend, easily. Most of the people that would be adding things and such are not computer literate. There will need to be a way to have articles posted and also have them expire into an archive after a certain time. A forum for our state officers to leave messages for everyone else to see would also be required. In the forum, it will be password protected for only officers to log in, but there would also be another general forum for everyone in the state to make postings. A method of people signing up for an electronic newsletter would need to be on the front page. For the photo section. From the backend, they need to be able to create a “flip book.?? Where they can upload all of the photos for that particular project and have them grouped for that section of photos. Look at the [login to view URL] site for an example. And I the last thing would be, the site has to be easy to duplicate and setup for another group. I am funding this idea with my own money, and would like to be able to setup a smaller version for the local chapters of DECA throughout the state to recoup some of my spending. Giving them somewhat of the same look and feel as the state website. Maybe changing some of the colors to go with their school. I’m not sure how many schools are looking at creating a website, some have done so already, so I really don’t know if the idea will sell. But I am still looking to take the lowest bid, with the best quality behind them (timeframe is another thing, the sooner the better). ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. ## Platform I have not signed up for a hosting company yet. Most likely it will be done on a Linux machine. ## Deadline information Design (front-end) must be approved one week after bid is accepted.
