I plan to run my small orthopedic practice on filemaker pro 5 (FMP). I will need the following functional modules: 1) patient data input 2) patient appointment scheduling 3)electronic medical record system 4)coding, billing 5) accounting 6) I plan to implement web posting of medical records for patients who want secure access to their personal records (implementation of this portion of the job would be a follow-on project for the successful bidder) Details of the project are as follows (see numbers above), and more details can be supplied as needed: 1) data entry - straigtforward layout for the secretary to view and add pt info, and she can use this layout to modify patient info, search for a patient and call up their appointment data, account balance data, most recent medical record entry, etc. 2 patient appointment system - a layout for creating and viewing appointments in 5 minute intervals from 5 min to 90 min. viewable by day, week, and month. If I was viewing a patients medical record, say, and I wanted to create an appointment for that patient say in 60 days from today, I would click on a button that said "add appointment" enter the nnumber of days (60) and the time needed (say 30 minutes) and the system would search for an appointment to match those requirements. (the system would know about days the office was closed and other times no appointments would be possible, and the system might also have stored the patients preferred appointment time when the patient registered) the system would also send an email to the patient one or two days prior to the appointment as a reminder) 3 Medical record system - the system would accept text files generated from a voice recognition system (MD's office notes) as well as image files from a fax, and image files from a scanner of the paper records that arrive by mail that must be added to the patient's medical record. The records would be stored as a tree by date and type, searchable by date and type (ie xray report of 4/23/2002; MD note of 4/25/2002) and the system would display, print, fax, or email records to other doctors, insurance companies, etc. MD notes will each have codes associated with them, diagnosis codes (ICD-9 codes) which may be one, two , or more in number, plus a procedure code (CPT code) which may be one, two or more in number, some with modifier codes. When the documents are generated via voice recognition, these codes would be in them...would you like more? please ask!
