The purpose of the project is to create a financial aid calculator for a web site. These are commonly known as "EFC calculators". (EFC = Expected Family Contribution.) The web site visitor will input data, submit it, and receive a calculation result. Complete data collection needs and calculation methodology for 2004/2005 can be found at:

There are numerous existing calculators on the web now - a Google search for "EFC calculator" will show some. While these may serve to show how others have implemented EFC calculators, the work submitted for this project must be original and must not copy code from other sites.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. Source code to include comments to facilitate future modification and/or debugging.
2) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
3) It is anticipated that the following items will be required:
- HTML page or pages for input data.
- PHP or other code to process the data according to the formulas and process shown in the referenced PDF file.
- HTML results page showing the calculated result with a summary of the input data, and a link to a printable results page.
**Notes:** Input data should be validated, and in the event of invalid or missing required data, the user should be returned to the input screen with his original data plus an indication of the incorrect element(s).
User should be able to redo the calculation and change some elements; that is, after completing a calculation, a user should be able to go back and change one or more data elements without re-entering all data.
Ultimately, the pages will be integrated into a page format standard to the site. If CSS is used, standard elements should not be redefined as this might affect other page elements.
**Bidder should review the referenced PDF file to be sure he/she has sufficient information to code the data collection and subsequent calculation. Bidder is encouraged to test several existing EFC calculators to understand typical user interface design.

## Platform
Code will be installed on a RedHat Linux server. It is expected that the coding will be done in HTML and PHP, although alternatives will be considered.
