Parse source code of current page and assign to variable using Javascript
$30-100 USD
Pagado a la entrega
I've been playing around with this and can't figure
it out. If you have a solution for this, I'll gladly
pay for it.
Let's say I have a page called [login to view URL], which is
made up of 100 lines of html code, and let's say line
45 says something like this...
Total value of inventory: US $1281.75
I know that pages will change from time to time, so I can
never be sure that it will always appear on line 45, but
I DO know that somewhere on the page it will always say...
Total value of inventory: US $
... followed by an amount.
I need to insert a javascript code ON THE SAME PAGE that
will read that amount and assign it to a variable I can use.
I'm not much of a Javascript expert, but I do know there
are various things like [login to view URL] and
[login to view URL] that you can use to
retrieve source code on the current page.
Unfortunately, in my experiments, I can only reference
the instances of these strings that appear in my Javascript
code!
The code I've been using (which doesn't work) is something
like this...
///////////
var getthecode=[login to view URL];
var loc1 = [login to view URL]('Total value of inventory: US $');
var amount = [login to view URL]((loc1 + 30),(loc1 + 7))
///////////
It'd be nice if it worked in most browsers, but I'll take
what I can get.
