Generic Database CRUD UI and menu system

UI Prototype Specification Overview: Our software provides similar functionality to standard database administration tools, including a toolset which allows users to create new tables, create/edit layout of data entry screens, and add/modify menu items. For this project, we are looking to create a barebones mock-up to demonstrate how our future products may look and feel. As you build, please keep in mind that we will eventually want our end products to be very generic and flexible. For example, both table templating and edit dialog templating should be done dynamically with column data retrieved from the database server, such that an addition of a new table will require no new coding in order to perform CRUD actions on it. Implementation: 1. Client Side: Open to anything, but Preferably some combination of the following....Angular, Ember, jQuery, Knockout, Handlebars, jQueryUI, jquery Datatables, KendoUI, CoffeeScript, LESS, SASS 2. Server Side: run against a MySql db server. preferably PHP for server side scripting. nice and concise. 3. Target Platform: Google Chrome (future Mozilla Firefox and IE) Features: 1. Database CRUD a) Choose database from server b) Choose table from database c) Display table using jquery datatables or kendo ui or equivalent. d) When a row in the table is clicked, show popup dialog to edit fields. e) Add new row to table using “new” button click, “+” sign click, or another method of insert. f) OPTIONAL: In-line editing. In addition to popup edit dialogs, implement in-line editing directly into the tables. 2. Menu Driven Navigation a) JSON driven menu system. Sample menu items JSON file will be given to you. (4 levels deep). We should be able to replace this JSON file with another and have your code work flawlessly. b) Top level and Second level layout similar to leading websites like Google/Amazon/Ebay. No firm guidelines. We're looking for creative ideas for navigation. c) Top level would represent a module in our suite. (only 4 in sample file, ~9 max ) d) Second level would represent a submenu for a particular module. e) Third level and beyond can be drop-downs, popups, sliders, hide-able panes from sides/bottom/top. f) This is an open sand box for us to think about how navigation COULD work in our future products. Look and Feel a) We would like this prototype to show well and be easily restyled. b) Maybe pick a nice green and purple combination using [login to view URL] (formerly [login to view URL]) Deliverables: provide source code and demo site online from your own host OR provide source code ready to run on Ubuntu LAMP stack This project is not for beginners. Read the specs and make sure you understand what we're asking for. A very generic and dynamic CRUD UI in the browser.
