I am looking to upgrade a wordpress site from 3.5.1 to 4.0.1 In my research I know this has to be done incremental.. first to 3.7.1 available in the old releases from wordpress, then to either 3.8 or straight to 4.0.1. Looking for someone with experience in doing this before. I need to ensure that my theme files, database and plugin files that have all been customized are not written over. I have ftp access and wordpress dashboard access to complete this task.
