I am working on an existing Wordpress site for a client and looking for help fixing the existing login/registration functions, or to develop a new login/register function. The site currently has a system that requires login/registration to view specific custom posts. More information is below:
Site link: [login to view URL]
Property Listings - Go to the listings page: [login to view URL] - you are required to register or login to view the property details. But if you register or login, it does not take you to the property listing page that you clicked on. It takes you back to the main listings page which means a user would need to search the page to find the property they want to view again.
The goal for the login process would be to have a user click on a property, login or register, then be taken directly to the property detail page.
Cookies - The original code has some references to Cookies but it does not properly remember a user. Each time you go back to the site it requires you to login or register to view a property listing. We would like this to be changed so a user is properly remembered when they come back to the site.
Login/Logout Links - There is no obvious way to view if a user is logged in to the site. After login, we would like to have links in the upper right corner of the page to Logout, message for "welcome username" and a link to users profile page.
Profile Page - Create a page that displays the users profile page and allows them to edit contact info. Fields collected at registration are: First name, last name, email, password, phone, company, address, business type,
Two approaches - make edits to the current login/registration system to work properly. Or, remove the login/register functions from the templates and use a new membership management system like WP-Member to control access to the pages.
