Add CKEditor inline editor to save Wordpress Pods post

I have a Wordpress website that has a custom post type called "staff" (created using Pods).
When the user logs in, they see a custom meta field called "notes". I want the user to be able to click into this section to edit it directly on the front-end of the site.
This should use CKEditor ([login to view URL]), and the field should save whenever the user clicks away from the field, or automatically every 30 seconds. (Suggestions on how to improve this? We like the way Wrike / Google Docs handles this).
The user should not be taken away from this page. All the saving of the data should happen in the background using AJAX.
