enhance PHP search script - flat file static page search

Hi,
I need to enhance a PHP script that searches html pages on a server within a directory.
The script runs fine at the moment but the results are repeating the pages that it has found repeatedly numerous times.
It is a very simple script but I would like. The title of the page found (at the moment it returns the file name eg. [url removed, login to view] or contact.html.
NOTE* We can't run a MySql data base on this server.
Really just want a little cleaning up of the script.
No results found for your search criteria etc..
