Formula for Salary Based on Performance Rating

Produce a formula that calculates a salary for a person in a specific group. Each group may have a different range of ratings based on a person's individual performance. The highest performer in the group, obviously is receiving the highest rating. (example: person in group A with a 5.0 rating receives 9,000 salary; any person with a less than or equal to 1.0 receives 5,500 salary ). Any person below the lowest rating for a group receives the minimum salary. The formula is for players in a board game. For any one game, there may be 80-100 persons.
Input variables:
m = maximum salary (example: 9000)
n = minimum salary (example: 5500)
group A rating = example: 5.0 to 1.0 ( high to low )
group B rating = example: 100 to 60 ( high to low )
i = amount that the salary will reduce from one person to the next ( not sure because it may vary; open to suggestions; but salaries should round to the nearest $100 )
