Its easy and I have done this before. Paypal, payuMoney free and paid solutions. you need to buy the payment gateway or you can use my recommended free gateway. I'll let you know the details
we have already integrated payment gateway using PHP & MySql. Though it is not Paypal. There will be no problem integrating some other payment gateway with your existing software
