[url removed, login to view] will be a site where Software Authors will upload programs and other products in self-extracting zip format for purchase and download by customers. There will be a main site and an admin site.
The main site will consist of a Home Page that invites Authors to Register as well as invites customers to review and purchase products.
When an Author requests registration, they will be required to assign a username and password and provide First Name, Last Name, Company, Address, City, State, Postal Code, Country, telephone, Fax, email and web URL. They will be required to provide a PayPal account to which their payments will be deposited. They will be required to provide a Commission Rate (%) that will have a minimum value of 25%. After registration, an email will be sent to System_Admin to notify and request approval.
Upon Approval by System_Admin, the author will be notified that they are able to upload zip files and offer products for sale.
The Author will be able to sign in to the site and Add Products. Required information will be Product Name, Product Graphic, Short Description, Detailed Description and Price (2 dec). Additionally they will be able to load up to 10 Sample Graphics (screen shots or other) together with an appropriate description for each graphic. They will, of course be able to upload the self-extracting zip file as well. The site will have several Product Categories defined by System_Admin and the Author will be able to link the product to up to 5 categories.
The author will be able to Edit/Delete their products as well as their Personal Information and Password.
The Home Page will invite customers to browse the site and will display the available Product Categories. It will also display the 3 most recent uploaded products and the 3 most popular downloads.
Customers will be able to browse the Categories and see a list of the available Products. At this level, the display will be Product Graphic (thumbnail), Product Name, Author Name, Author Company (if not null) and Short Description and Price. The customer may choose between Add to Cart or Details. If the customer chooses Details they will be sent to a page that contains Product Graphic, Product Name, Author Name, Company (if not null), Detailed Description, Price and the 10 Graphics/Descriptions provided by the Author. They will have the option to Return to the Category or Add to Cart. each time the customer "Adds to Cart" they will be given the option to Continue Shopping or Checkout. Upon choosing Checkout the customer will be provided with a printable invoice and the option of paying via PayPal or 2Checkout. If via Paypal we will need to collect their Name, Address, Telephone, email, etc prior to passing them to Paypal with a total amount. If they choose 2Checkout, we simply need to pass the Produt ID and the quantity to 2Checkout. The Customer information can be retrieved via passback.
Upon completion of the payment, the customer will be sent an email with a link to download the ordered Product(s). The link will contain a Download Key that can be used only once unless reactivated by the Author.
Records will be kept of each purchase of each product so that sales can be tracked and payment made to the author. Each Author will be able to view their sales over time. System_Admin will be able to view all sales and calculate payments to the Author. Details of this to be discussed.
System_Admin will be able to Approve/Suspend/Delete Authors, Add/Edit/Delete Product Categories, Suspend/Delete Products, View/Edit Author Info, Action Author Payment and View/Print Sales reports.
