Social Engine - Quick Comment Reply

My site runs a SocialEngine script which is Smarty/PHP.

What I require is that users who get a comment from someone can hit 'Reply' and instead of being taken to the persons page to comment them, they can simply comment the user from their own page.

When a user clicks reply, a box (mootools is installed on my site) pops up asking for their response, they enter it and when they click submit, the comment is sent to the other profile and the box dissapears.

Of course you can do this however you wish, as long as it's simple and effective I'm not too bothered how it looks.
