I would like to create a java tool that can be hosted on a webpage and would allow a user to input a series of letters that would be then checked to see if those letters are contained on a database list. The goal of this tool is to allow companies to see if their organization will be impacted by a maintenance window, searching by their organization ID. The ID is between 3 and 8 alpha characters. The tool would be very simple. The user would type their organization id into a field and hit search. The search result would tell them either yes you are on the list or no you are not on the list. See attached photo

I have created programs in java very similar to this, where I have searched through excel sheet data with java to find similarities between profile descriptions. I'm assuming that the database is in SQL which can be read by the java program(so there is no need for php). I would need to know if you want me to deploy the code onto your webpage or if you just want the .war file? Also if needed I can increase the efficiency of the program using sort types, which would be helpful if this application is going to be run many times. But this may take an extra day depending if you want me to deploy the code.

Create the search page which takes only 3 and 8 alpha characters. Do validations for non alpha chars. Provide configuration file to put details for connecting to DB. Making it as a maven project. Webpage <----Request/Response---> Webservlet(business logic) <--> DB
