Powershell Scripts for Stageering restart of Servcies into Windows Server.

I need a scripts that will have 1. Read the server lists from text files 2. Restart service name called "XYZ" and it's dependencies likes java process liked to this services . .Once the service is back online then need to go to the other service on the next server . The goal is to restart one service at time. Some key requirements: 1) For non-clustered environments, we only have 1 of each type of server, so its impossible to avoid an outage. But the script should work in the same way as a clustered environment, whereby for each component, we loop over the servers and do 1-by-1, doing a stop, and start before moving to the next server. 2) The script should check for any running jobs on the server/component its about to shutdown before stopping it. If no jobs are running (i.e. that component on that server is idle) then happy days - shutdown and then restart. If a job is running, we need to give a grace period for the job to complete. This should be configurable somewhere. The script should move on to the next server and return to that one after the grace period. I suggest something like "3 retries with 2mins between retries). Thus max of 6mins. In the event all retries are exhausted, what do we do? Good question - we need to revisit that with the Acurity Support Team for their views. 3) In the same way, if a shutdown of a component fails, we need to work out what we do. I suggest for now we move on and do everything we can, and then report at the end what couldn't be stopped. 4) Same for restart - if a component doesn't come up, what do we do?
