We are already behind on this project due to 2 other Freelancers and we need it ASAP in order to meet our deadline. I have uploaded files that should explain the project better as well as a parts list and images of the hardware as it is currently built. DO NOT BID UNTIL YOU HAVE READ AND LOOKED OVER ALL OF THE UPLOADED FILES AND YOU UNDERSTAND THE PROJECT AND WHAT WE NEED O ACHIEVE. The device I am building in which I need help with the programming consists of nine illuminated, interactive buttons corresponding to each combination of the colors red, yellow, and blue with the shapes circle, triangle, and square. Interactive buttons are arranged in a circle equidistant from each other with an LCD screen in the center containing the cues unique to each trial. I'm using a Raspberry Pi 3 microcontroller and need a program to release rewards via a servo motor, signal the speaker to emit a chime with correct responses, and randomly generate the appropriate cues/responses for each trial. I also need the program to record the time of day, the cues/responses available for each trial and the response made during that trial, and the length of time required to respond in conjunction with the time-stamped photographs taken during the trial via the camera module. I've begun construction of the devices and just need the program to make it ready. Ideally I would also like to have an interface on my MacBook Pro (macOS High Sierra version 10.13.3) that can link via Bluetooth or via Wi-Fi to both devices so that I can monitor the trials on my laptop and manually change the difficulty of the levels as I wish. Please review the notes and feel free to ask questions and provide any input or ideas. I can also provide more information on the project if needed.

I'm an experienced developer and have created many projects using the Raspberry Pi and various interface boards. I have read all of your documents and would be able to help with your project. The only complicated part would be allowing the connection from a mac to monitor progress and change difficulty level - could the level just be controlled by a 5 way switch for now and monitoring added later? I have equivalent components except for the stepper motor and controller - a quick test program could prove that I could control the motor. According to your [login to view URL] the coloured buttons light up - there doesn't appear to be any button light connections on the pin out plan?

I offer to implement it with python, it is working on raspberry very fine and we can achieve fast development pace with it. I have raspberry pi 3 and stepper motor shield and can buy other parts quickly. So I'm able to test it from start. Also, I can start development right now. For storing trial results I can use sqlite or mysql. Recorded photo/video will be saved in plain files. For interfacing with your MacBook I offer to implement http interface accessible via Wifi. About time schedule. I will create first working version within 1-2 days, it will do logic of trials, pre-training and training, so you can see project in action and make correction to algorithms if needed. I need small payment after this first stage, to be able to buy some parts I don't have (lcd and pi camera). On the second stage all other functions will be implemented, I think it will require about 5 days (I will send you updates each 1-2 days). After this you will be able to test fully functional application on your hardware and I will fix any bugs found. Questions I currently have. There is start button (white one, right?), but how pre-training/training/trial mode should be selected? Is it needed to identify chimps before start? And if yes, how? Or this should be done only after trial/training completed? Software should save for each session: video of full session, cues shown, all buttons pressed by chimp with exact timestamps, right? I have more questions, but there is limit for this text ) Oleksandr

Hello, Firstly, as far as I can see there are no pull-up/pull-down resistors in your I/O connections. Without them you would risk damaging your I/O ports, and there would be a lot of glitches. I do not have all the hardware required for this project. So we can do this one of the two ways below: 1.) I can order the parts, and start the work once they arrive. This would probably delay the project about 2 weeks. And I would need another 1-2 weeks after that to finish. In total it could take up to 5 weeks. And I would require the first milestone to be released on project start to partially cover the hardware cost. 2.) You can setup a remote environment for development. You would need to connect the raspberry to a network that I can VPN into. And ideally there would be a camera feed showing the setup. You would also have to assist me from time to time, pressing the buttons to test I/O. The development will likely take about 2 weeks, and you would not have to release any milestones at the start of the project. I would setup a simple web server on the pi, it would have a control panel for you to view and control the experiements. You would be able to access it from any browser within the same network.
