Write a Report

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS CONSULTING Task : Your team represents a consulting company that specializes in international business consulting. The task is to develop an economically viable business proposal for a company of your team’s choice. Your team must: - choose an organization, describe its core products, competencies, and international operations; - conduct a market opportunity analysis and choose a market where the company could internationalize; - propose a product or service that the organization should develop; this can be a completely new product, the “next big thing” for the company, or it can be a modification of an existing product adapted to a new market; - conduct an in-depth analysis of the foreign market: its economic, political, and cultural environment; - recommend a plan for the new market entry. Job hired to do : 2. The Organization: Choose an organization that you will be writing your report for. It can be any existing organization, big or small, as long your team members unanimously agree on the choice. Ideally, it would a company that may eventually be interested in your report. In your team report, describe the organization, provide a short overview of its history, products/services and key competitors in the industry. Perform a SWOT analysis of your firm. Include a note on your organization’s international operations, such as where the organization was founded, first foreign markets entered, current international presence, etc. Much of this section can also be presented in tables and figures. For example, you are encouraged to present a graphic historical timeline (a quick google search of “company timeline” generates several nice examples) of key events in your firm’s history and (if available) some key financials in figures or tables. Your client already knows the company’s history and products, but can benefit from your analysis. It is recommended that this report chapter be devoted primarily to the analysis of the company’s competitive position, rather than company history and products. (3-5 pages)
