Recently I am working in the British School of Costa Rica and in my previous years I worked for dual language English/Spanish Immersion schools in United States. My experience as an Educational Psychologist, Special Education teacher and Bilingual Regular Education goes from working in private and public institutions in Costa Rica, Charter and public schools in the United States and teaching consulting and training for publishing houses in Central America.
In addition to teaching in a highly effective and rigorous environment, I had worked as an effective participant of the Resource team supporting differentiated instruction among all grade levels. My native language is Spanish, although I am proficient in English.
I have had ample training, experience and study in Biliteracy, meaning that I use a constructivist approach to bilingual instruction providing comprehensive strategies, developing student’s skills to the most authentic tasks. Also, as a school community member I work actively in PLC teams, design lessons and unit plans appropriate for the students’ needs and interests driven by the analysis of data, and collaborate with other resource professionals in the system to best support the students.
