Create a simulation using a rover preferably with Aion Robot, Jackal or Huskey to detect landmines in a simulation environment. You may add sensors on the robot like metal detectors, camera, lidar or GPS that will help with the navigation and successful detection of all landmines. It is to be done in a Virtual Machine with ROS, Gazabo and other necessary tools installed. The task is to hand over the VM after completion.

Hi, I am an Engineer with masters in Robotics and Automation. I have finished some similar projects to build a real robot operated with ROS that included these parts: - Lidar (RPLidar) integration to a mobile robot (Turtlebot). - 3D point cloud sensor (Astra) integration to a custom made mobile robot. - Path planning, mapping and navigation of a mobile robot in a real and simulated office environment. - Control and trajectory planning of a robot arm (UR5) in both simulation and hardware. I also have experience working with physics simulators including Gazebo and pybullet. I have created Gazebo plugins for another project. From the project description, I think a new plugin may have to be created for the metal detector. Let me know if you are interested. I will look into it.
