We like to create a set of characters base on PEN (pencil, fountain pen, brush, calligraphic pen.) and want them to have special style of drawing to make them distinguishable, for example, Simpson is memorable because of their eyes and mouth, we want to have some features and style very special too. Next we will need these characters capable to move on to animation stage and thus all characters created shall be in vector and consists of layers of their individual parts.
