wordpress blog layout rework

i have a blog of articles that I would like to have redesigned.

1.I would like each article to be overlaying an image

2. When an article is open, the full article will display and underneath the article, all titles of the articles in that particular category will be listed under the full sized article that is displayed.

Template for the articles will need to be designed. Layout of blog will need to be improved.
