I'm looking for a website designer and it is a plus if you have a feeling for UX and you can also work as a HTML/CSS coder in one person.
You will be working on design for a portal about cryptocurrencies consisting of reviews, blog section, comparison pages and basic charts. The goal is to have something similar to [login to view URL] (less complex) and [login to view URL] (more complex).
No programming knowledge is required but I'm not looking for a designer ONLY - you should have a feeling for UX and also know what HTML and CSS is. You are expected to be a reliable and independent professional who is able to work within a team and deliver results usable by that team; I do not need someone who needs to be told exactly step-by-step what to do. If you've read this description, mention the word woodpecker. This is long-term position and I have experience with hiring for such position so you can expect clear instructions and a very fair approach from me.
You'll be working together with a frontend developer, the design needs to be implemented into the app's framework. So it will be benefitial if you can work together on that. Backend developers will also be at your disposal if you need to ask about something regarding the internal structure or data.
Some sites which I like:
revex(dot)co - menu structure, language structure and reviews carousels are nice
bitcoingg(dot)com - menu structure, sidebar, footer are nice
bitcoincasino(dot)info - listing of posts, listing "Top sites in country XXX" are nice
Some sites which I don't like:
bitcoincasinos(dot)reviews - ugly WP layout, bad menu, bad background, bad listing of reviews...
bestbitcoincasinos(dot)net - bad listing of attributes, displays too narrow on 2560px monitor
bestbitcoindice(dot)com - old fashioned design, strange fonts, a lot of unused/badly used space on website
- eye for detail
- knowledge of latest trends in web design and UX
- responsive HTML/CSS grids and media queries
- familiar with Bootstrap
- less /scss knowledges
- well structured / clean code
- git/gitflow knowledge
- any experience beyond the regular stack such as Photoshop is a plus. Mention that.
Screening questions (you will be ignored without answering them):
What other tools and frameworks do you have experience working with besides the expected ones?
Post examples of exactly TWO projects that you've worked on which are most similar to this one. Don't forget to mention your specific role(s) and tasks.
How do you prefer to work with a team of developers and what is your specific experience with that?
Did you read the description?
