I have implemented [login to view URL]'s Dynamic Web Twain to perform remote scanner via a browser. Users put there paper in the scanner. They then surf to our webpage. They push the scan button on the web page which causes the scanner to start scanning and the images to then upload to our webserver. It works great.
We use, almost exclusively, the Canon DR-2580C. This scanner has 3 quick-launch buttons on it chasis, aka OneTouch buttons, aka Job Buttons. I want to make it so push the first Job Button will open IE (if it isn't already open) - go to my URL, and then "click" the "scan" button on the web page - so that scanning is truly a one-click-scan-and-submit operation.
I tried using Canon's Job Registration tool. After wading through their documentation, it appears that you can only link the buttons to applications that compatible to scanner related events. Clearly, Internet Explorer is not a compatible application. I want you to provide instructions and/or a program and installation routine that makes that button do the right stuff.
Ideally - I would get (I think):
* all source & instructions on how this all works
* an .msi file to install that registers a compatible application (that launches IE and hits my button) that will work the Job Registration Tool
* another .msi that automatically links up my Canon's first button with the compatible application
