I'm Simon Hästö. I finish projects, am honest about my availability/whether I can translate your text properly, I meet deadlines and I treat people online like human beings (when it's not called for, I'm going to turn off the "formal" and be a regular person).
I have three years of translation experience - on a wide range of subjects - am fascinated by language and genuinely care for everyone I choose to work with. My mind is set on delivering what would make the specific text qualitative when translated (more on that later), and I dedicate myself to mutual long term benefit and translating without losing the original meaning.
What sets me apart is this... A translator's possession of perfect grammar is absolutely necessary - its absence inevitably producing misunderstanding - but not called for in every specific (can even mess a text up; any ten year old experienced with a grammatically correct "translation", of a text originally written in a playful, conversational tone, knows this; and the memory is probably painful).
And, when grammar is called for, apart from with topics in very dry, technical, language, it's not everything called for. A translator unable to pick out the underlying meaning, of a text where that's important, is a translator incapable of translating your text. Certifications and a formal education may be possessed - along with amazing capability in dozens of other topic areas - but he won't be able to translate your text optimally.
Translating isn't about the words - it's about the meaning; not about writing words in another language, but seamlessly transferring the original meaning (which, apart from the areas with very technical language, is contained in more than the grammar). Everything I produce revolves around this fact.
But this is all easy for me to say. This is what others have had to say:
“Great job...will hire him again.. ”
“Amazing speed. Will surely pass on more work to Renaisscance”
“Very good communication and fast delivery!”
“Very quickly, good work, should hire him again. ”
Am I pricey? That's up to you to decide. But, if a widely experienced quality-minded translator - who meets deadlines and is dedicated to giving you exactly what you define as quality - is what you're looking for, then perhaps you should consider me. I'm also really fun, and informal (when desired; I will know when that is), to chat to.
So, why not contact me? ...Then we could, in whatever manner, discuss what you're after.
Looking forward to it/Simon
