WORLD DESIGN CAPITAL PROJECT - CAPE TOWN 2014 Developed, published in text and braille and recorded 2 successful educational children’s fiction stories (Nino’s mourning story and Nino is getting a baby brother.) in 5 languages English, Afrikaans, Xhosa, French and Italian. The stories with activities are also available as apps for both android and iPhone. Support and endorsements from the Red Cross Childrens Hospital, Groote Schuur Hospital, Nkosi’s Haven, CAFDA - Cape Flats Developmental Association and SAPPI. Media exposure through the Expresso breakfast show SABC3, Living and Loving magazine, My Baby magazine and online magazine Odyssey along with SA FM. Successful retail through Wordsworth Books, Kalahari.com, Loot.co.za and, Megabooks.co.za. They are also available free of charge in braille and audio through the South African Library for the Deaf and Blind. Nominated for Startup of the year Cap40 Business Awards 2014

The Secret Love Project NGO

WORLD DESIGN CAPITAL PROJECT - CAPE TOWN 2014 The Secret Love Project was a World Design Capital Cape Town 2014 project that designed a unique image of a heart to embed the feeling of love into people's brains without it being forced or advertised. This was achieved by making the heart available in sticker form in different sizes and getting the people of Cape Town to place them wherever they felt fit. Their car, postbox, pavement, box, invoice.... To spread the project further, I developed partnerships with Madame Zingara, Short and Sweet, Black Mango and independent retailers to distribute the hearts at their venues, stores and events. I initiated a successful crowdfunding campaign through thunderfund.com which gave us the funds to purchase rain suits for the people living on the streets in Cape Town so that it could make their winter a little bit easier. We received financial support from Heart.fm and publicity support from the local newspapers and magazines.
