Problem Statement: They only have a hardcopy database of the University's merit system. No softcopy was collected throughout the semester. I came out with a solution idea by collecting softcopy data and consolidating for all the events conducted. A merit system was created (please refer to the attached photo) to calculate the total merit collected by every student. This system saved thousands of hours by eliminating manual data entry and merit calculation. Result: Management just sorts the top listed students to be selected for the next semester eligible for staying at the University residence.
