Employment Experience Xansa February 2006 – July 2006 Data Architect (C#/VS2005/.Net2/SQL Server 2005/T-SQL/XML/Oracle PL/SQL) I am involved in several projects as a Data Architect, designing the databases according to the recognised normalisation rules. I have written the stored procedures, triggers and User defined functions. I developed the deployment scripts for the databases. I have developed CLR Stored procedures. Education Development International Plc December 2005 - February 2006 Analyst programmer (ASP.Net / C# / XML / XSL / Oracle PL/SQL) This project involved developing the section of the web application for EDI that would enable users to print out Certificates in Pdf format from XML files produced by the Oracle database. I wrote some of the PL/SQL stored procs used in the application. The XML was rendered using XSL-FO into Pdf through a library written in J#. KML Projects April 2005 – Present Analyst programmer (C# / .Net) This is a part time project and was mostly completed during my own time. I was commissioned to build an application in C# that interfaces to a scanner using TWAIN and COM, giving the user control of any TWAIN compliant scanner to acquire Images, resize and change pixel depth. These images are then indexed using a proprietary database, developed in XML. The images and index are then saved to CD/DVD using a windows API. The CD’s have an application that will autorun on inserting the CD, this application allows users to search on the indexed criteria, view the selected scanned images and then print or Email as appropriate. The software has been chosen by an airline maintenance company to allow it to scan and index the maintenance documents for their Aircraft. The application uses Winforms for the User interface and certain design patterns have been used to enable a shorter development time. Currently I am developing a web interface to the search engine and using SQL Server to hold the data for faster and more efficient searching. The code was developed using design patterns to expedite the development process and leverage required functionality. Blemain Finance October 2005 – November 2005 Senior Developer (VB.Net/ASP.Net/javascript) The contract was short term, to allow the company to complete a new back office system written in VB.Net and using a web interface. JPi September 2005 – October 2005 Analyst / Programmer (C#/javascript/ASP/ASP.Net/CSS) This contract was a short term role to facilitate the final stages of development and roll-out of a new web site for Jessops, the chain of camera stores. The project was an ASP.Net application using C# as the programming language, the pages were styled using CSS, and employed javascript for client side validation as well as some operations prior to sending data to the server. iSoft July 2005 – August2005 Analyst / Programmer (C#/VBScript/ASP/ASP.Net/CSS/Dreamweaver) This contract was to help develop intranet applications for the company. The development was a mix of both ASP and ASP.Net with VB and C# as the server side development languages and JavaScript as the client side development language. The applications and development covered the analysis, design and creation of a booking system for an asset the company had developed, and an email alert system for the company’s IT fault control system. The applications were linked to a SQL Server database, requiring the design and development of the database along with the stored procedures to access and update the data. Along with this there was the development of multiple small external websites for client contact regarding services provided by the Company. Standard design patterns were used in coding where applicable. Relisys (Permanent) Senior .Net Developer Oct 2004 – June 2005 (C# / SQL Server / WinCE / TCP/IP) I was made redundant due to company wide cost cutting. The project is intended to develop management software for Thin Client and Windows CE based devices, using open protocols such as HTTP/SSL/SNMP/IMCP, developed in C# building both a desktop (Windows Forms) and a web based(Web Forms) interface. The communication between the CE devices and the management console was achieved using TCP/IP across an Ethernet, the ability to access the network through the Ethernet ports was pivotal to the application and allowed direct communication with the devices. To ensure devices were live on the network I used ICMP and Wake on LAN technology. For some specialist communication between devices, such as remote control of Terminals windows sockets were used to provide a direct channel, I designed a coded this functionality. I was employed as the senior .Net developer to develop the User interface, which was pivotal to the application.
