## BIO
INTRODUCTION Throughout my career I have worked as a skilled Application Developer, Technical Advisor, System Administrator and Team Manager. My interests are in Internet development, system and infrastructure design, database programming and conceptual design. Those are also the areas that I specialize in. My interest and work experiences have made me a valuable consultant for deciding IT support strategies, configuring and deploying systems and network infrastructure. I work well both in structured engineering settings and troubleshooting roles. My ability to come up with short term solutions under pressure has been highly appreciated by my employers and the costumers that I have worked with. However I am aware of the long-term support issues for such fixes. As a result I plan ahead for a long-term solution to any problem I have to fix quickly. I believe strongly in the importance of scripting and automation for all sorts of troubleshooting. I have been working directly with web technologies since 1998 and with Internet technologies as a whole since 1996. I am experienced in conceptual systems design, specification, system automation, effective and efficient technical administration and maintenance. I have installed Linux and Windows systems in widely ranging situations and budgets. PERSONAL INTERESTS In my spare time I like to meet my friends and family, watch movies, try out new and exiting dishes. I’m also very fascinated by motor sports, especially fast motorcycles and cars. Furthermore I am conscious about my health and well being. I like to work out at the gym and when the weather is nice I like to ride my rollerblades. I also like to travel around the world to see new places and meet new people. All of these are done on my own initiative, giving me the chance to really stretch my capabilities and also to stay in practice with skills I don’t encounter on a day-to-day basis. Even so, my specific areas of interest tend to mirror my work interests, thus allowing me to take problems with software and approaches identified in the course of client work a step further. As these projects have a large positive impact on my skills as an engineer, I have presented a summary of some of them below: [login to view URL] Sole system designer and developer and also the overall Technical Advisor and manager. This system is a redundant active / passive solution (except the MySQL Cluster which is active / active). The system is built using LVS (Linux Virtual Server) which is taking care of the load balancing mechanism. Failover between the firewalls and load balancers are done using VRRPv2 (Keepalived) which is also taking care of the different ARP situations when handling IP takeover etc. Operating System used is Debian GNU / Linux 3.0. A MySQL Cluster provides fault tolerant distributed database access to the applications. A variety of services will be offered from this platform in 2005.
