Hi there, If the 2D plan is already detailed, then it is easier to get it done in 3D. The square will play a roll. I have over 9 years of experience in drawings and as a Supervisor in the building and civil industry. This kind of jobs are the one that I did many times. What I will do, I will leave all of the dimensions placed on the drawing and then copy the drawing, Then I will remove the dimensions of the copy drawing and then work with that one to create the 3D and after that the render.
